Amsterdam- worth off visiting

A couple of years ago I visited in Amsterdam first time. I was very impressed by dutchmen. They are very friendly people and speak fluent english. My first visit was short and after first visit I decided to come again. We booked with my wife flights and accommodation.  When most of the finns pack their cars and drive to countryside to celebrate Midsummer, we packed our suitcases and flew to Amsterdam. Direct flight from Helsinki  to Amsterdam  last two hours, thanks to Finnair.  Schipol airport convinces me that it is sensible to combine airport and railway station. After 20 minutes trip by train you are in the heart of the city. Our accommodation located next to Vondel Park, only five minutes walk to Van Gogh and National Museum. Public transportation in Amsterdam works perfect, by tram you can easily access to all parts in the city. In Finland car is the king of street, unfortunately ,but in Amsterdam bike is the king of street. There are over 600 000 bikes in Amsterdam and that shows. Despite of the fact that these bikes are in active use, I did not see any accidents .I suggested to my wife that we should rent bikes but she said that we would probaply stuck the bikelane.I guess she was right, like allways.Two tourists reading a map in the middle of the lane is not the best idea, considering how fast dutchmen cycle. In Amsterdam there are a lot of restaurants, indian, chinese,continental, just name it and you' ll find it. I would say that standard of prices is average if you compare prices with restaurants in Helsinki but they surely know  in Amsterdad how ro make a good steak. Holland legalized prostitution and drugs for long time ago.Is it good idea or not. I do not know. I am not judge or jury but obviously there are less crimes in Amsterdam if you compare with other european cities. I think conventional and modern Amsterdam goes side by side. During our visit we did not see kids hanging around markets or shopping places. They spend time with families like we did in the 60 s. Amsterdam offers a lot of things to do. The friend of art finds easily museums and exhibitions. There are all types of culturevents all around the year. Weather was nice enough, not too cold or too hot. I have to confess that I do not know how weather should be around Midsummer.
Dutch language is funny, if you can speak german, svedish and english you can pick up words from speech which  are similar with those languages. To understand written dutch is easier than understand spoken dutch. I think dutcmen and finns have same problem. When we cross our boarders , no one understands us, which of course is a good thing because we must study english at school. Finally, if someone asks me, is Amsterdam worth of visiting, I simply answer, yes.
Good to remember, open drug policy ends at Hollands' boarder. In the Helsinki airport custom and police are waiting for passengers from Amsterdam with drugdogs.
